Press release - announcement

Lekkerkerk, September 2020

Following our new start as an independent company beginning of 2020, we have not only new shareholders but also a change in our board of directors to share with you.

Paul Wellink, brother of our founder Frank Wellink (who died in December 1984), has led our company for over 40 years. As of 21 September 2020 Paul has hand over the baton to one of our new co-shareholders Peter Pronk. Paul will remain as advisor to the company until the end of 2021. Frans Sierevogel has joined the board as CFO and Laurens Blanken as CCO.

Together with all employees and together with our multiple partnerships, Paul has succeeded in growing Wellink into the largest independent specialist pig head deboning company in Europe with an annual turnover of over 50 million euros.

Like Paul, Peter comes from a “meat family” in The Hague. Peter also got trained at the municipal slaughterhouse in The Hague. September 1983, he started his own meat processing company (P. Pronk Vlees B.V.), run it and eventually sold the company in 1997. Through various consulting assignments and his shareholding and management role at Swilion Business Consulting (1997 – 2005) he moved over to the renewable energy sector. From 2005 to 2010 Peter was Asia director for the Dutch wind turbine producer Emergya Wind Technologies B.V. (EWT). He has built up the market in Asia with an emphasis on China. January 2008, Peter moved to China with his wife and daughter. April 2010 Peter started 1421 Consulting Group Ltd with the strategy to support Western companies with doing business in China. From October 2018 until June 2020, Peter has been director of a European funded project called EUSME Centre, which was carried out by 6 Chamber of Commerce (London, Brussels and Beijing). Peter is married to Marian Zwinkels and together they have 3 sons, 1 daughter and 4 granddaughters.

Together with the board members and MT members, Peter will guide F. Wellink Lekkerkerk to the next phase. After more than 12 years of living and working in China, Peter and his wife Marian moved back to the Netherlands.

In cooperation with our advisory board, our long-term commercial cooperation partners in Italy, England, Hong Kong, Africa and China, the enthusiastic and rejuvenated management and all the employees, under the leadership of Peter, our company is going to have a very bright future.

We trust to have provided you with sufficient information.

With kind greetings,

Board of Directors, management and shareholders of F. Wellink Lekkerkerk B.V.
